Our chef Lana takes part in weekly cooking activities with the children. These include meals from the menu that the children can eat, healthy snacks and bread for breakfast. This week the Ladybirds made pizzas with Lana. The children manipulated knives to cut up pieces of peppers. Carefully maneuvering the knife and managing the risk of the knife. Spoons were used to scoop sweetcorn on pizzas. children used fine motor skills an were skilled at this maneuvering the spoon with little spill. Children also sprinkled grated cheese onto the pizzas using a pincer motions that supports early writing skills.
