Making a Wormery

The Butterflies went to the forest to look for worms to make their own wormery.

They researched worms on the children's laptops and in books to see where they might be found.

In the forest they used their research with purpose to locate worms.

They dug through soil with spades to search for earthworms.

They located several earthworms.

They viewed them carefully and began to build on the wormery.

They added soil, rocks, sticks and sand to the wormery for the worms to be at home.

Designing the habitat themselves.

The children searched and added the worms to the wormery.

They viewed them inside looking as they wiggled.
