Dots of flavour!
On a sunny afternoon, the children engaged in a fun and colourful activity that involved a theme of a common interest in the room, which was ice cream! To encourage the sunny weather and heat we chose to do an activity that most children would most likely relate to, and they really enjoyed it.
The task was pretty simple, there was cut out triangles made out of card which represented the cones, and for the scoops of ice cream I thought it would be fun for the children to use dot markers which included a variety of colours to represent a variety of flavours. We then identified the different colours we saw, and they were able to state them, plus imagining what flavour they can each represent. For example, the yellow could be for vanilla, red could be strawberry, brown chocolate and more.
Overall the children done well with understanding what their task was, and the image of what it was they were making. This encouraged their colour recognition, physical development from the use of their hands and fingers and encourages their pse development, because of engaging in a interest of their own whilst socialising with others. Good job toddlers!
