In honour of the super sunny weather, Stars had lots of fun transforming our garden into a seaside! Using a range of resources, the children eagerly worked together to build sandcastles, collect “treasures,” fish for sea animals, and mix sand and water to create muddy puddles and seaside soups. The water spray added extra excitement as the children laughed, danced, and cooled off under the gentle ‘sea rain’. Throughout this activity, the children shared their own experiences of visits to the seaside and practised turn taking and teamwork while sharing tools and space. The children were deeply engaged and showed fantastic curiosity as they experimented with the different textures of dry and wet sand and discovered how sand and water change when mixed together. What a wonderful day at the seaside — without even leaving the garden!
