A huge thank you to Chhaya for coming in to share her knowledge and experiences of Navratri with the Blazes! 

The Blazes learnt that Navratri is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated over nine nights, honouring the goddess Durga and celebrating the triumph of good over evil. It is a time for community, joy, music, dancing and celebration! 

The children had so much fun recreating the traditional line dancing often enjoyed during Navratri. They also put their listening skills to the test by following instructions as they moved around, making the activity both exciting and engaging!

After we kindly asked Chhaya if we could borrow the sticks and we gave each blaze the opportunity to learn part of the dance !

It was wonderful to see the Blazes so enthusiastic, joining in with big smiles and embracing the opportunity to learn about another culture and its traditions.
