Lemonade

Lemonade

This week, the children in preschool had lots of fun making their very own ‘lemonade’!

We explored a mixture of cornflour and water, adding slices of oranges, limes and lemons. The children enjoyed squeezing, stirring and mixing the ingredients together, watching the colours and textures change as they experimented.

The children were fascinated to discover how the gloopy cornflour mixture could change from feeling more solid when squeezed or pressed to becoming runny and liquid when released. They loved exploring this unusual texture and were amazed by how the mixture seemed to change before their eyes!

We then used our glass jars to carefully pour our ‘juice’ into them. This was a wonderful sensory activity that encouraged the children to explore different smells, textures and colours while developing their fine motor skills, coordination and imaginative play.

The children were so excited to make their own delicious-looking ‘lemonade’ and enjoyed sharing their creations with one another!
