As many of the babies have been showing an interest in self-feeding, we planned an activity to support the development of their hand-eye coordination and early spoon skills.
We filled a tray with water and added a selection of chopped vegetables to create a pretend "soup." The babies were encouraged to stir, scoop, and lift the vegetables out of the water using ladles and scoops. Throughout the activity, they explored different ways of retrieving the vegetables, using either their hands or the utensils provided.
The babies thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, particularly the opportunity to splash and play with the water. They demonstrated excellent hand-eye coordination as they carefully targeted and picked up the vegetables, developing their fine motor skills and concentration.
