This week the Ladybirds made watermelon pizza's. We used a slice of watermelon as our pizza base, spread creamy yogurt on top as our "sauce," and added delicious fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries as our toppings. The children enjoyed carefully cutting the fruit into smaller pieces before decorating their colourful creations. As we prepared our fruit, we talked about knife safety, learning how to hold our child-safe knives carefully and keep our fingers safe while cutting. The children showed great concentration and were proud of developing their independence, confidence, and fine motor skills .During the activity, we also spoke about our favourite fruits, with everyone excited to share which fruits they enjoy eating and why. This hands-on experience encouraged communication, healthy eating, creativity, and sensory exploration. The ladybirds were so proud of their fruity masterpieces, and we hope they enjoyed tasting their watermelon pizzas as much as they enjoyed making them!
