Gross Motor Target Games

Gross Motor Target Games

This week, the toddlers developed their gross motor skills through a variety of physical activities in the garden.
For the first activity, the children used magnetic tiles to build towers and other structures. They then stood at the top of the bridge and rolled balls down towards their creations, aiming to knock the towers over. This activity encouraged hand-eye coordination, balance, and an understanding of cause and effect while making building and problem solving fun.
For the second activity, the children practised their throwing skills by aiming balls at a hula hoop covered with sticky tape. They enjoyed seeing the balls stick to the target, which motivated them to keep trying and helped develop their aim, coordination, and control.
These activities supported the children's physical development while encouraging turn taking, concentration, and confidence in their movement skills.
