Pumpkin Spice Soup!

🎃 Pumpkin Spice Soup!

This week, we’ve been getting into the autumn spirit with some lovely pumpkin sensory play! 🍂 The children enjoyed mixing water and cornflour to create oobleck, adding flour and autumn spices such as cinnamon for a wonderful sensory experience.

We then explored pumpkin seeds, and the children had lots to say about how they felt! Some described them as “cold,” “gooey” and “lumpy.” We love hearing the children share their ideas and discover new words through play! 🧡

The fun continued as the children made their very own pumpkin spice soup, scooping, pouring, stirring and mixing away! This playful activity supported their language and early literacy skills, encouraged creativity and imagination, strengthened little hands, and helped them explore early maths concepts such as filling and emptying.

Lots of messy fun, curious little minds and wonderful autumn discoveries! 🍁🥣
