This week the babies explored Nelson Mandela day by exploring a sensory rice tray featuring the South African flag as they learned about South Africa, the home country of Nelson Mandela. This hands-on activity encouraged sensory exploration while introducing the children to different cultures and an important historical figure!
The toddlers explored the life and values of Nelson Mandela through a large-scale collaborative art activity, creating a "Kindness Tree." They worked together on a large sheet of paper placed on the floor, using a variety of paint colours and their handprints to form the tree. This creative experience encouraged teamwork, self-expression, and discussions about kindness, helping the children begin to understand the importance of caring for and respecting others
