Rain Makers
We decided to bring the wet weather inside for the babies this week in a fun and sensory-rich way. We used some clear umbrellas and tied blue tissue paper to them to simulate rain.
We added some of the usual things associated with rain, such as clouds, rainbows and Wellington boots, which the babies had so much fun trying on.
To extend this activity, we provided the babies with the sound of rain using watering cans. They listened carefully to what it sounds like when rain hits the umbrellas. They were fascinated to see the rain hitting the umbrellas while they stayed nice and dry!
