Buying a Pumpkin

Lions went for a trip to Waitrose to buy a pumpkin for Halloween. When they got back with their pumpkin, they carved a face in it and put it in the front porch for all the parents to see.

Going to the shops with babies and toddlers is an excellent opportunity for learning, supported by the EYFS. You can support their development through a variety of activities, from language and sensory exploration to developing social and mathematical skills. Involving them in tasks, talking about what they see, and using shopping as a real-life learning experience will help them build a range of skills.
