Beach Fun
In the baby room, the enjoyed exploring a sensory-rich pretend beach set up in a tuff tray, designed to spark curiosity and early learning. The tray was filled with soft sand and wobbly blue jelly to represent the sea, creating a tactile experience that encouraged the babies to scoop, dig, and splash. Spades, seashells, and textured pebbles with numbers painted on them were scattered throughout, inviting the children to engage in early numeracy by recognising and handling the numbered stones. As they explored, staff supported their play by naming numbers, describing textures, and encouraging turn-taking, helping to develop both cognitive and social skills in a playful, imaginative environment.
