In the baby room, we’ve been busy making some lovely enhancements to our environment. We’ve created a cosy black and white exploration area by adding a new soft black and white rug and carefully selecting a range of coordinating black and white resources. This has created a warm, inviting space where babies can feel comfortable and engaged as they explore.
Black and white environments are especially beneficial for young babies, as high-contrast colours are much easier for them to see in the early months of development.
Young babies’ vision is still developing so they are naturally drawn to bold, contrasting patterns. Providing black and white resources helps to stimulate visual development, strengthen focus and tracking skills, and support early brain development.
