Boats, Ducks & Splashes: Water Play Fun
The babies have loved exploring water play this week, this has been an ongoing interest with many of our baby room friends. Using toy boats and toy ducks makes the experience even more engaging and fun. During this activity the babies enjoyed splashing, feeling the water with their hands, and watching the movement of the floating toys. They reached for the ducks and boats, pushed them gently and tried to grab them as they drifted away helping to develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The different textures, colours, and motions of the toys and the water captured their attention and stimulated their senses. They sailed the boats down the cascades and giggled when they made a splash. This type of play also encourages early problem-solving and introduces basic cause-and-effect concepts in a safe, playful environment. To extend our experience the babies were filled with wonder and excitement as they met our real life duckings, watching them waddle and flap their wings was a great experience for them all.
