Charity Shop Visit

The preschool children went on a short trip to the local charity shop. Before the visit, we talked about what a charity shop is and how people donate items such as toys and books so they can be sold to help others in the community.
For this activity, the children helped to choose some teddy bears and toys from our nursery to donate. They carefully placed the teddies into bags and talked about how giving toys away could help make other people happy.
Once we were ready, we put on our coats and walked safely together to the charity shop. The children were very excited and enjoyed talking about the teddies we were taking with us. When we arrived, the staff kindly welcomed us and the children helped to hand over the bags of donated nursery toys.
After donating the teddies, the children had the opportunity to look around the shop, especially at the book section. They enjoyed exploring the different books and looking at the pictures. The children then chose some books to bring back to nursery.
When we returned to nursery, we looked through the books together and talked about the stories and pictures. The trip was a lovely experience for the children, helping them learn about sharing, kindness, and how charity shops support the community.
