Dinosaur Children's Interest

Dinosaur Children's Interest

Preschool have been really interested dinosaurs recently so we turned the room into a Jurassic world, the children got to do a series of activities including a risky play obstacle course with logs, crates and benches where they had to use outstanding balance to navigate the different heights they had to walk across , they also wore dinosaur masks as they were completing the course, there was fossil hunting, where they used paintbrushes to brush away the soil to uncover the fossils and tried to guess what dinosaur they belonged to. Using playdough, leaves and some collage material they recreated their own dinosaur habitats. For the main part of the activity they had natural resources including
Leaves, sticks and pine cones, then using the small world dinosaurs, they acted out their own Jurassic story. “This dinosaur is the one in charge, he has many teeth”, “this dinosaur uses its long neck to help his friends get food” and “ This dinosaur is called toothy, he is happy and plays with all his friends” were some of comments made amongst all the Jurassic fun! They took it in turns to add to the story, wearing the masks, using the natural resources as props for their scenes and naming the different dinosaurs!

Preschool, you worked and played together amazingly to create some amazing stories full of friendship and Imagination, as always, I couldn’t be more proud!
