Edible playdough

Edible playdough

This week in the baby room we enjoyed a lovely sensory activity making edible play-dough using yogurt and cornflour. The babies took turns measuring out the ingredients and adding them to their bowls. With support from the adults, they mixed everything together and watched it change into a soft dough.
Once the dough was ready, it was placed on the table for the babies to touch and explore. At first they were unsure and curious about the different texture, but after some time they became more confident and really got involved. We used cookie moulds to press and create different shapes, which the babies enjoyed exploring.
The activity encouraged sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and curiosity, and most importantly the babies had lots of fun. Well done babies!
