What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating our families! The children have been absolutely loving their family photo wall proudly pointing out their loved ones and chatting with friends about who’s who. To keep that excitement going, we set up a colourful painting experience where the children could create their very own family portraits. With photos nearby for inspiration, the creativity flowed as they carefully chose colours, added special details, and painted the people who mean the most to them. This activity was not only lots of fun, but it also supported some big learning goals — helping children feel a strong sense of identity and belonging, encouraging them to express themselves through art, strengthening fine motor skills, and building their confidence as they shared their work with others. We can’t wait to turn our room into a Family Portrait Gallery and celebrate the love and joy that families bring into our lives every day!
