Gingerbread House Fun

This week in the Toddler Room, our little creators took on a very exciting festive project, making their very own gingerbread house using junk modelling materials!
The children worked alongside an adult to help construct the house, carefully sticking boxes and shapes together using masking tape. They were full of curiosity as they explored how the pieces joined, proudly helping to build the structure from the ground up.
Once the house was ready, the real magic began! The toddlers got busy painting and decorating it with colourful pom poms, sparkly sequins, soft feathers and bright tissue paper. There was so much joy as the children chose their materials, explored different textures, and brought the gingerbread house to life with their wonderful creativity.
After the masterpiece was complete, the children were eager to use it in their play. They set up play people and sprinkled pretend snow around the house, creating their own wintery, imaginative world. It was lovely to watch their ideas grow as they added stories, characters, and lots of festive fun.
The children absolutely loved this activity, from building and decorating to using the house in their role play. What a fantastic way to explore creativity, teamwork, and imagination!
