Guess how much I love you
This week in preschool we explored the story ‘guess how much I love you’. We began this topic in circle time by asking the children if they knew what story involved a hare and made sure to define the word ‘hare’ to them, explaining that it’s a very fast rabbit so they could picture what animal it was. We then proceeded into the story in circle time and discussed that it was about 2 nutbrown hares, both daddy hare and baby hare, and how they portray love to one another. This highlighted the importance of love and care for one another and being kind together.
We extended this activity in a creative way by setting up a tuff tray, including all sorts of drawings such as hearts, moons, arrows and more that all link to the story, plus the book displays the spring season with some plants and grass in the background so we added leaves in too. The children all contributed to cutting them out and exercising their fine motor skills well. Later, as a practical activity, the children gathered in the mark making area and drew some love hearts and bunnies.
