Iftaar with Babies
This week in the baby room, we marked the special month of Ramadan by turning our afternoon snack into a little iftaar celebration. We spoke about how Ramadan is a special time for many families around the world, and that iftaar is the meal eaten when the sun goes down. The children were curious and engaged as we created a warm, calm atmosphere around the table. For our iftaar meal, we enjoyed grated cheese, juicy pears, and crunchy crackers. The babies loved sitting together with their friends, sharing this special moment. They did a wonderful job pointing at what they wanted to eat and having all foods in their plates. This supported their independence, decision making skills, and fine motor development. It was a lovely opportunity to promote communication, and social interaction while celebrating different cultures and traditions.
