Mini beast hunt with the toddlers
This week, the toddlers took part in a Mini Beast Hunt in the garden as part of their exploration of nature and living things. The toddlers started the activity off by a mini group story time where the children listened to a very interesting book all about mini beasts and in this book was various different bugs such as ladybirds , spiders , honey bees and worms which they were really fascinated by. Following the story, the children eagerly grabbed their mini beast tick list and was very excited to begin their hunt. The toddlers then went around the garden area where they enthusiastically searched under logs, around flowerbeds, and in the trees. The toddlers were full of excitement as they pointed out a ladybird on the tyre and shouted “look a red ladybird”.
Each time a mini beast was found, the children proudly ticked it off their sheet. They showed a strong sense of accomplishment and were keen to share their findings with the other children and staff.
Well done Toddlers!
