Mini construction workers
The babies turned into mini construction workers this week when they explored a tuff tray set up with diggers, large soft blocks, and a textured mixture of sand and foam to mimic real cement. They reached out and and patted the soft, squishy "cement," and used their spades and hands to dig and scoop and mould the cement and to load the diggers up like a real building site. The diggers were a great way for the babies to explore imaginative play and small world as we mimicked the motions of real diggers by driving, scooping and pouring the cement whist some of our friends at the tray were busy building towers using the blocks provided but of course their favourite part was knocking the towers down and giggling as they toppled over. The babies loved the new texture we created when mixing sand with foam, it was a great sensory experience for them all.
