Nature Stencil
This week in preschool, we have been introducing the beginning of Autumn! To explore the seasonal changes, we took a short walk around the complex to observe and collect some autumnal leaves. During our walk, we talked about what happens to leaves in autumn , how their colours change and how they fall from the trees as the weather gets colder.
Back at nursery, we used the beautiful variety of leaves and flowers we had collected for a creative art activity. Using spray bottles filled with autumnal paint colours, the children mapped out their leaves on card to form their own unique compositions. After demonstrating how to use the spray bottles, the children carefully sprayed over their leaf arrangements.
Once the spraying was complete, the magic happened as they gently lifted the leaves to reveal their own abstract artwork! Each piece was a wonderful blend of colour, shape, and creativity, using nature’s own resources as stencils. The final results were stunning and showed each preschooler’s personal vision.
Well done preschool, what beautiful art you created!
Following on from this we bought the flowers inside with some loose parts and shapes, on a white board as canvas the children enjoyed placing the different objects on the board and creating flower gardens, rainbows and the sun. From this experience the children’s creativity shone through and you could really how much they enjoyed using their imaginations. Well done preschool you did so well!
