Pancake Day at Independent Place

Pancake Day at Independent Place
We had a wonderful time celebrating Pancake Day in preschool with the help of Chef Laura. The children were so excited to become little chefs for the day, each with their own bowl of carefully prepared ingredients. Following Chef Laura’s instructions step by step, they practiced listening, turn-taking and mixing carefully as they stirred and whisked their batter.
Our babies also joined in the fun, enjoying the sensory experience of exploring and mixing the ingredients in their bowls — squeezing, stirring and discovering new textures and smells. The toddlers made delicious banana dairy-free pancakes, chopping the bananas with support and mashing them before mixing everything together. The highlight of the day was using the hot plate to cook the pancakes, taking turns to pour the batter with Chef Laura and watching it bubble as it cooked. The room was filled with excitement and the delicious smell of freshly made pancakes. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience for everyone, building confidence, developing fine motor skills and, of course, enjoying a very tasty treat together!
