Small World Ice Cream Fun Day!

In the baby room, the children engaged in imaginative role play using homemade kinetic sand crafted from baking powder, shaving foam, food colouring, and a touch of essence to mimic real ice cream. As they pretended to run their own ice cream van, the children scooped, poured, and moulded the soft, textured mixture into colourful cones and imaginative treats which they enjoyed pretend feeding to their adults. This sensory-rich activity not only sparked creativity and social interaction but also offered valuable opportunities to develop fine motor skills, as little hands carefully gripped scoops, shaped “ice cream” portions, and transferred them into cups and cones with growing precision and coordination.
