Smoothie Making Activity: Strawberry & Banana Smoothies

Today, the children enjoyed a fun and healthy smoothie-making activity using a tasty combination of avocado, strawberries, and bananas. They used child-safe knives to carefully chop and prepare the fruit, practicing their fine motor skills and learning about kitchen safety along the way.

Once everything was ready, the fruit was added to a blender along with some milk. For children with milk allergies or intolerances, oat milk was used as a dairy-free alternative. Each child then poured their smoothie into their own colour-coded cup, making sure everyone had the correct version.

To finish off the experience, the children got to enjoy their freshly made smoothies as a delicious addition to their tea. It was a fun, hands-on way to encourage healthy eating and independence—plus, the smoothies were a big hit!
