Tiny Hands, Big Discoveries: A Touch and Texture Adventure

This week in the baby room, we focused on exploring our sense of touch. We created engaging texture boards using a variety of recycled materials and encouraged the babies to investigate them freely. As they explored, we introduced key descriptive vocabulary such as smooth, rough, bumpy, hard, and soft, supporting their early language development.
The activity sparked great curiosity and interest, especially as many of the materials and textures were familiar items they may encounter in their everyday lives. It was wonderful to see the babies confidently touching, feeling, and discovering the different textures around them.
