This week, the toddlers enjoyed some wonderful winter-themed art activities. We set out to create our very own melted snow people, using a variety of materials found around the nursery. The children began by exploring different textures—circular sponges dipped in white paint, colourful fabric pieces, buttons, and even sticks that we collected from the garden.
All our materials were placed in a large tray with white paint, and from there the creativity began! The toddlers used their hands and tools to explore mark-making, stamping, dragging, and pressing the materials into the paint. With lots of imagination, they shaped and designed unique melted snow people, each one different and full of character. It was a sensory, messy, and joyful experience for everyone.
