Frittata making fun!

Today, the grasshoppers took part in an exciting hands-on cooking activity with Chelsea, creating a delicious vegetable frittata! Each child had a specific role, whether it was chopping vegetables or mixing everything together. In the prep group, the children used child-safe knives to cut the vegetables into small pieces, learning important safety skills while handling cooking tools. After chopping, they took turns grating the cheese, demonstrating their care and attention as they followed Chelsea's instructions. Meanwhile, the mixing group got to work combining the ingredients. They began by cracking 8 eggs into a bowl and whisking them until well blended. Next, they added milk and seasoning, whisking those in too, before incorporating the chopped vegetables and cheese into the mix. Later in the afternoon, everyone patiently waited for the frittata to bake, and they were thrilled to enjoy it for their tea! This activity not only helped the grasshoppers develop practical culinary skills but also showcased teamwork and communication among the children, making it a fun and educational experience overall.
