In celebration of Environment Day, the Grasshopper group had an exciting hands-on experience learning about recycling! The children explored how everyday household items—like cardboard boxes—can be reused in fun and imaginative ways. Working together in small groups, the children painted their boxes with a rainbow of colours, experimenting with brush strokes and developing their fine motor skills along the way. After painting, they got creative with glue, scrap paper, and bits of plastic to add flair to their cardboard vehicles. Using tape, they attached pieces of clear plastic to make imaginative "windows," ready for peeking out on their pretend journeys. To extend on the children's learning, they went on a trip to the local pet shop using the train and buses! The children had an amazing time on the bus and the train and had a lot more fun looking at the animals in the pet shop!
