Recycled Threading

This week, the grasshoppers had a fantastic time exploring the concept of recycling. They engaged in risky play by assisting their teachers in creating their own threading boards. The children participated actively by selecting the shapes for their boards and using scissors to cut them out. This activity fostered their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they carefully cut around the shapes, trying to stay within the lines. Some children required a bit of guidance and support to keep the board steady and to follow the lines, but everyone enjoyed taking a turn. After completing the shapes, the children used a hole punch to make holes around the boards, ensuring to hold the hole punch steady while their teachers assisted them. Once all the boards were finished, the children had immense fun using them for threading activities. They experimented with various threading tools, with some opting for a small slim wooden threading needle, while others chose thin plastic needles.
