Risky Play Pins and Loom bands
The butterflies have had an exciting time exploring risky play! To begin they discussed the potential risks of using the pins, encouraging their understanding of safety and risks. The children had lots of very sensible suggestions such as 'hurting our fingers’ or ‘hurting our friends’. The butterflies carefully placed pins into the cork board before using hammers to keep them in place, making lots of unique shapes and designs. They then added some colourful loom bands to finalise their creations. The butterflies were so focused and engaged during this motor skills activity.
