The grasshoppers engaged in a wonderful learning experience about the weather through a hands-on experiment. Using various resources found around the nursery, the children set to work creating their own weather cups. They began by demonstrating their developing gross motor skills as they poured water into their cups. . Once the cups were filled, the children used shaving foam to create clouds at the top. They did this both independently and with assistance to help them learn how to use the canister and squirt the foam effectively. After this, they employed pipettes and food colouring to squirt over the foam, eagerly watching the transformation as colours seeped through the foam and trickled down into the water, forming vibrant droplets and streams. The children observed that the blue drops resembled rain, yellow looked like sunshine or lightning, and red suggested a very hot day. Well done Grasshopper's!
