Girl Guide Day with Beth

Today was a fantastic day as we celebrated Girl Guide Day with Beth, who is a guide leader in her spare time. We kicked off the day by exploring various badges and discussing the guiding promise, discovering what being a guide truly means.

The horse had a great time trying on different guide uniforms, including Beth’s special scarf. They also had the chance to look online to see the range of uniforms available for different age groups of guides. Throughout the day, the children participated in a variety of activities to earn their badges.

They used play dough to create their own monsters and played a storytelling game to earn the “Express Myself” badge.

We also had a special guided activity where the children, blindfolded, guided each other around the room, learning about teamwork while avoiding obstacles.

In the afternoon, we gathered for a delightful bonfire, roasting marshmallows and singing campfire songs. Before starting the fire, Beth talked about safety and demonstrated how to use a fire extinguisher, ensuring everyone knew how to stay safe and got our “have adventure” badge.

We wrapped up the day by reciting our guiding promise and receiving our promise bear badge. It was a truly enjoyable day, and the children loved being Rainbows and Guides!
