Miso Soup - World Vegetarian Week

In celebration of World Vegetarian Week, the Star children made their own Miso Soup! They learnt about all of the nutritious ingredients within Miso Soup including Tofu which is great for protein, Wakame Seaweed which contains many essential vitamins and minerals, and Miso Paste which is great for our gut health.

They used their fine motor skills to cut up Spring Onion and Tofu and added it to the pot, before following the rest if the instructions to scoop out the Miso Paste and soak the Seaweed. After this they added water to the pot, carefully watched the water boil, and mixed all of the ingredients.

As they ate we spoke about being vegetarian and what it means, and some of the children pointed out that they were vegetarian or that their friends were vegetarian- it was a great way to understand that everyone is unique!

They all tried the Miso Soup and lots of the children enjoyed a second (and third) portion! Well done Stars!
