Phonics Fun!

Today the horses took part in a phonics adventure outside in the garden. They started off with a short phonics session, going over the different sounds we have been learning the last few weeks. Then they had 3 different stations outside designed to reinforce their phonic knowledge. At the first station they made letters out of blocks then told us the sound of the letter and a word beginning with that letter. At the second station they had to think of a letter then search the whole garden for objects starting with that sound to put in the tray. For example, when they picked the letter b, they put in balls, bricks, bowls and they even tried to put in Beth! At the third station they thought of 3 letter words and used their own bodies to make the letters! Some children used their whole bodies and some used just their arms or legs. Fantastic work horses!
