Shrove Tuesday With Preschool

Today the preschool children had a wonderful time celebrating Shrove Tuesday by taking part in a special cooking activity. The children enjoyed adding their own ingredients to the bowl, carefully measuring and pouring before taking turns mixing the batter together. They showed great teamwork and communication skills as they shared utensils and waited patiently for their turn. While stirring and squeezing the mixture, they developed their fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination. The children also learned about safety as they used a knife to cut the up the fruit and helped cook the mixture on a hot stove with adult support. It was a fantastic opportunity to build independence, confidence and early maths skills while celebrating this special day in a fun and meaningful way.

Once the pancakes were finished the children had the choice of what toppings they would put on their amazing creations. The star’s were extremely proud of themselves.
