Stained Glass Window Art

Today the horses worked as a team to make some masterpieces for our windows! We researched different types of stained glass windows and spoke about how the pieces are put together to make a picture. Once we decided what pictures we wanted to try the horses selected different shapes of tissue paper to make things like the sun, flowers and some fish. We discussed how these bits needed to go on first so they would be at the forefront of our picture when we turn it over! They then carefully pressed them on to the sticky plastic, taking time to get the positions correct. When they had done this we spoke about what colours should go in the background and what way they should go. For example, when making the ocean we decided to put the pieces all horizontal so they resembled waves. The horses did a fantastic job working as a team and patiently covering the whole sheet. They were all thrilled to see the final results when we turned them over. Lastly we stuck them to the windows and watched all the colours come to life as the light shone through. Amazing work horses!
