Train Station Role Play & Visit

We have transformed our role-play area into a lively train station, inspired by our shared enthusiasm for trains! We have created tickets, signs, and even a timetable to ensure everyone is aware of train departure times. Some of us have taken on roles as train drivers, while others have become passengers or worked at the ticket office, helping everyone prepare for their journeys.

Together, we enjoyed pretending to take train rides, announcing the stations we passed: “Next stop, Paris!” and “All aboard for Tokyo!” We used our imaginations to look out of the windows, envisioning a variety of sights from around the world, including snowy mountains, towering city buildings, and sun-kissed beaches.

Additionally, we have explored images of real trains from different countries, including the swift bullet trains from Japan, double-decker trains from Europe, and colourful engines from India. It was fascinating to observe the unique designs of trains around the globe and how they connect people.

Today, the Blazes children took a stroll to Buckhurst Hill train station, where they enjoyed watching the trains go by. They saw four trains in total and enthusiastically waved at a train as it pulled into the station. The train driver responded by blowing his whistle, which delighted the children. After our visit, we made our way back through the barriers, and a kind gentleman at the station gave us some tickets to use at our workplace's train station.
